Barton “Buzz” Thompson

Buzz is a leading expert in environmental and natural resources law and policy, and one of the founding directors of Stanford’s Woods Institute for the Environment. His research focuses on the sustainable use of natural resources and the effective reform of regulatory institutions. He is part of a team at Stanford that is helping the people of Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula design a sustainable future for themselves, and he will share insight about that work and the future of the Osa during our voyage.
