Kathryn Robinson is an anthropologist whose research has been focused on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. Her research, postgraduate supervision, and development consulting have taken her to almost all provinces in Indonesia, as well as to many remote parts of Southeast Asia and the Pacific. She is Professor of Anthropology at the Australian National University, where she also obtained her PhD. Her research interests include religion, traditional architecture, indigenous peoples, and natural resources, and her last book was a historical and anthropological account of gender relations in Indonesia.
