Michael Saunders

Michael has lived and worked in Singapore, India, and Indonesia for over a quarter of a century. He has travelled and worked extensively across Asia, as well as the Middle East, South Africa, Mexico, and the United States and has held a number of senior sales and marketing positions with Unilever and ICI. Michael left corporate life in 2004 and established his own business, which consults companies throughout Asia. Michael graduated from New College, Oxford University, with a master’s degree in modern history, specializing in the history of European expansion in Asia between the 16th and 19th centuries. He is now a permanent resident of Singapore and continues to study the history and ethnography of Southeast Asia. Michael speaks a number of languages, including Bahasa Indonesia.
