Know Before You Go
The Ancient Silk Road is an adventurous journey, including interesting, unusual, and remote destinations for the experienced and flexible traveler. Tourist facilities are not highly developed, and many of the goods and services taken for granted in Western countries are not yet available or are underdeveloped by Western standards. The food is simple and flavorful, but choices are often limited. The weather is unpredictable and can vary greatly from one day to the next. The traditional regional lifestyles and cultures may affect scheduling, and the order of events and inclusions may change. Some days will be long due to rough roads or lengthy border crossings. It is our policy to always use the best available accommodations, however they will range from five-star elegance to cheerful and rustic in the more remote areas.
