Know Before You Go

This expedition requires a moderate level of activity, with the option of more active hikes available. Bhutan has long been closed to foreign visitors and as such, their tourist infrastructure is in its infancy. Participants should note that some days of the itinerary will include long bus journeys over sometimes unpaved roads, and weather-related problems, e.g. landslides, could dictate a change of itinerary and hotels. We use the best available accommodations and though most of the hotels have on-site laundry services and en suite facilities, they may not always be up to Western standards. Most of the places we visit are at a high elevation, and altitude sickness may occur with some individuals.
