Land-based Accommodations
It is our policy to always use premium quality accommodations, when available, in the regions we visit. Since each destination is different, lodging can range from elegant hotels in cities to rustic inns in more remote areas. You will receive specific accommodation details closer to the time of departure.
Inclusions
- All accommodations and meals as outlined in the itinerary; group transfers; guided excursion as stated in the itinerary; entrance fees at sites; all gratuities; domestic air transportation within Myanmar and Laos; $50,000 of emergency sickness/accident medical expenses and $75,000 in evacuation insurance.
Exclusions
- All air transportation except as listed above; excess baggage charges; airport arrival and departure taxes; transfers for independent arrivals and departures; passport and/or visa fees; baggage/trip cancellation insurance; items of a personal nature such as laundry, bar charges, alcoholic beverages, e-mail/Internet/fax/telephone charges.
Know Before You Go
This is a journey for experienced travelers only. Participants should be aware that the infrastructure is poorly developed, and occasional delays and amendments to the program can occur. Accommodations will range from five-star elegance to “bright, cheerful, and rustic” in the more remote areas. Some days will also be long, with bus rides over bumpy roads and boat journeys that require sitting for long periods.
