Pearls of the Pacific- An Epic Itinerary with Zegrahm Expeditions

SEATTLE, Wash.-- Zegrahm Expeditions announces an epic itinerary that spans the Pacific Ocean from Hawai'i to Tahiti. Experience the newest in tropical Pacific adventures—showcasing the stunning beauty of idyllic islands and the warm, traditional hospitality of the people who live there. Aboard the elegant expedition ship, Clipper Odyssey, travel between two hemispheres to some of the most remote islands on earth and visit places immortalized by explorers, writers, and painters. While each voyage can be enjoyed on its own, a combination of the two—enhanced by the company of an expert team of lecturers and leaders, will guide and educate travelers on the marine life, wildlife, and flora as well as present lectures on the history of exploration in the Pacific.

Travel is aboard the 110-passenger Clipper Odyssey, the perfect expedition vessel for tropical itineraries. By Zodiac travelers land on shallow beaches and snorkel above remote reefs, or in the ship's glass-bottom-boat travelers who wish to stay dry can view underwater wonders from an above water perspective.

"We are excited about this new itinerary, where again Zegrahm Expeditions will explore islands little visited by other expedition ships,” says Zegrahm spokesperson Casey Marker. “Here our travelers will have fantastic opportunities to snorkel and dive in pristine waters amid large pelagic fish and pristine reefs. Above water we expect to see an abundance of birds that nest on these remote islands as well as find remains from an early Polynesian presence on the islands."

The first voyage sails southward from the legendary Big Island of Hawai’i toward the “world’s most beautiful islands” of Bora Bora and Moorea. Along the way, travelers are introduced to islands almost unvisited by any means other than expeditionary ship. What makes this itinerary unique are the visits to remote Christmas Island and the uninhabited Line (Kiribati Islands) of Malden, Starbuck, and Flint, which are among the most remote islands on earth.

The second voyage begins in Tahiti, and explores the sublime islands of French Polynesia that lie strewn across the South Pacific. Travelers explore the astonishing Tuamotus, and fabled Pitcairn Island, whose residents are all descendents of the legendary Bounty sailors. The centerpiece of this voyage is the three day-exploration of the stunning Marquesas Islands with their sky-high peaks and green-carpeted canyons.
