  • Along the Silk Road: Central Asia by Rail (October 13  29, 2016): Guests will visit six countries—Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan—in the company of renowned Asia expert, Gary Wintz.   • Iran by Rail (November 12  26, 2017): Also aboard the Golden Eagle, and with Gary Wintz guiding the expedition, guests will gain a unique perspective of Iran as they travel well off the tourist track. Travelers will visit seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites—Masjed-e-Jamé, the Royal Square of Esfahan, Persepolis, and Golestan Palace among them; browse the ancient bazaar of Kashan, famous for Persian carpets, textiles, and rosewater; and tour Iran’s cosmopolitan capital city of Tehran.   • India by Rail with the Hornbill Festival (November 20 – December 4, 2017): Guests will travel through northern India aboard the luxurious Palace on Wheels—sumptuous interiors, gourmet meals, and immaculate service—in the company of Dr. Shirley Campbell, social anthropologist and India enthusiast. Highlights include attending the Hornbill festival, showcasing Nagaland’s regional dance, music, art, and ethnic foods; visiting the royal cities of Jaipur, Udaipur, and Jodhpur; and searching for tigers and other Indian wildlife at Ranthambore National Park.
