Sub-Antarctic Islands of New Zealand

Having made our individual journeys to the lovely, southern city of Dunedin, the second largest city in the South Island, we found ourselves comfortably accommodated at the Distinction Dunedin Hotel, located in the center of the ‘old’ city. Though, older settlements were once located here. There are several 14th-century Moa-hunter sites along the Otago Harbor with a permanent site situated under the modern city. Maori called this village Otepoti.

We migrated in from places near and far to gather in Ushuaia at the start of our Antarctic adventure. Perched on the hill above the city in our magnificent hotel, Arakur Ushuaia, we gathered for dinner to meet the expedition team and our fellow travelers. We have all made a thousand individual decisions that have gotten us all to this point. Tomorrow we sail toward adventure united. Onward.

We converged on the city of Papeete from distant reaches of the planet for the same reason: to embark on an expedition to experience the culture, wildlife, and landscapes of the South Pacific, from Tahiti to Easter Island.

Reykjavik, Iceland / Golden Circle / Embark Le Champlain

This morning we began bright and early ferrying our luggage down from our rooms at the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica Hotel. We have the day to explore the countryside with local guides while our ship, Le Champlain, readies in port for our arrival and the voyage ahead.
