Kapitan Khlebnikov

The Kapitan Khlebnikov Returns in 2016

For over 25 years, Zegrahm has taken inquisitive guests to the ends of the Earth. One of the most revered vessels in our fleet during this quarter-century of exploration was Kapitan Khlebnikov, the 110-guest, polar-class icebreaker.

This powerful ship (think: 24,000 horsepower engine and advanced ice-breaking technology) was originally designed to escort scientists and miners in Northern Siberia, but was converted to a passenger ship in 1990. She not only takes explorers to the polar extremes safely, but also in comfort. The Kapitan Khlebnikov is outfitted with 51 outside staterooms and suites, two dining rooms, a lounge, and bar. Facilities include a heated indoor plunge pool, exercise room and sauna, theatre-style auditorium, library, and shop. Plus, she carries a fleet of Zodiacs and helicopter for up-close (and hard-to-reach) exploration.

After completing over 30 expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic on this legendary ship, Zegrahm travelers and expedition staff alike were nostalgic to see her taking a break from passenger service in 2012. However, we are happy to share with you that our sister company, Quark Expeditions, is bringing her back for 2016 and is offering a rare, exclusive opportunity for an epic Arctic Circumnavigation, along with four very special individual voyages:

Whether taken separately or in combination, these expeditions will expose you to destinations that can only be accessed by the mighty Kapitan Khlebnikov. Don’t miss your chance to cruise aboard this storied expedition vessel!
