Canary Islands
Seven unique islands make up the Canary Islands; hypothetically one for each day of the week, but you’ll want to spend as much time as possible soaking up the isles’ volcanoes, lunar-like landscapes, sandy beaches, dreamy dunes, and pine-shrouded hikes. Delve into the diverse landscape, where you’ll meet more than 350 species of fish, ride on camelback, marvel at La Palma’s rushing waterfalls, photograph the color palette of Lanzarote’s lava fields, try kitesurfing and windsurfing, and perhaps indulge in one of the thalassotherapy centers for which the islands are becoming famous. The temperatures are nearly perfect all year, and with such a varied landscape, the islands are a wonderful playground for all activity levels and interests, whether you want to take in the artwork of Óscar Domínguez or sail amongst the whales.
