Francisco earned his B.S. in Biology and M.S. in Ecology and Environment from the State University of the Dominican Republic. As a Fulbright Scholar obtained a M.S. in Ecology, Animal Behavior, and Evolution from the City College of New York, and conducted biology doctoral studies in City University of New York. As Director of the Greater Antilles Program for The Nature Conservancy, he oversees conservation initiatives in Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Puerto Rico.
