Originally from Sweden, Mats has worked in the adventure travel industry since 1982. With an appreciation of nature and a deep understanding of the Arctic region, he has spent the majority of his career bringing travelers to some of the world’s most remote areas. He has also served a general naturalist aboard a variety of expedition vessels that have taken him from Svalbard, Greenland, and the Canadian Arctic to Antarctica, the tropical South Pacific, and up the Amazon River. Along with his experience in adventure travel Mats also works as location manager involved in film documentary productions for many international TV and film companies. Between 1993 until 2002, he worked for BBC’s Natural department focusing on polar bears.
