Snorkel or dive nearly every day as you discover the western corner of Micronesia—this region boasts more than 1,300 species of fish. You'll also meet friendly locals, who will greet you with traditional dances; search for island endemics and a multitude of seabirds; and tour the island of Pohnpei.
A native of Palau, Steven has worked for The Nature Conservancy as Micronesia Conservation Planner and Deputy Director for Conservation, and now serves as the Director for the Micronesia Program. He received his M.S. in Biology and B.A. from the University of Guam, and he was a researcher at the Palau International Coral Reef Center for seven years. He has taken a leading role on tuna fisheries reform work with the Palau Government and helps to design and evaluate marine protected areas.
